Built in 1929, this instrument marks an important phase in the journey of this great Milanese maker, whose work represents a level of lutherie that few makers achieved in 20th-century Italy.
The high arching gracefully descends towards the purfling, where a wide purfling executed by Garimberti himself is nestled, seamlessly blending with the expertly executed rounded edge. The same harmony can be seen in the scroll’s volute, carved with consistent and proportionate growth. The “f”-holes feature an original design by Garimberti, who chose to use a top-quality soundboard.
The instrument is in excellent preservation condition, and the beautiful orange varnish maintains excellent thickness.
With a rich, deep, and colorful voice, the instrument possesses a great resonance suitable for a solo artist.
Sound:
Very open, sweet, and round.
